Reflection, perspective, the truth. These are the things that a mirror can provide for you. Man is a funny creature. If we want it bad enough, we can trick ourselves into doing almost anything. So blinded are we that often times, its only when we catch ourselves in the act that we are taken aback by the shock of it. Its only when we reflect and look in the mirror do we really come to realize our greatness or wretchedness. I am guilty of both often one after the other.
I guess I just want to be able to be some type of mirror, for me and others. I forget who said this, but to paraphrase, man is only as great as its weakest. For all our achievements in science, literature, and social behavior, in the end, the reflection of man will be the images of poverty, racism, hate, and war. The emphasis will not be on how far we've come, but how much further we have yet to go. While we may individually find our moral high ground, it is but a a sand dune compared to the mountain which we are destined to stand on.

Before We Get Started
I'd like to think I'm a private kind of guy. I don't really say a lot of the things I think and I guess writing it down is better than letting it sit here. By sit, I mean float around and get forgotten.
I still have my old xanga, but looking at the setup, it seems so childish reflecting the content in which I wrote. Now, at least the black background will give what I write a serious undertone (hopefully).
My motivation for starting this was cause I just had too many things that I wanted to say and have others weigh in on. Ever had a conversation by yourself? Just like playing ping pong or tennis by yourself.
Its the summer and maybe posts will come fast and furious depending on my diligence with news, current events, and random interests.
Good morning blog world.
